Meet the Teacher – Múinteoir Fiona T.

FionaPhotoHi everyone,

My name is Múinteoir Fiona and I joined Scoil Chlíodhna in August 2017.  I have been teaching for the last 10 years after having completed a business degree and then my H.Dip in Primary Education.  I have to say that I absolutely love my job!  I have worked in a number of schools, but none as special as Scoil Chlíodhna – I just love the community spirit in our school – it makes every day a special day!

This year I am teaching senior infants and first class, and we are so lucky to have our SNA Anne with us in our room all day.  She is such a great help!  We have 14 senior infant children and 11 first class children in our class.  We love to work hard and play hard!  We have just started learning about new and interesting apps using our iPads.  We are going to be using technology in lots of fun and interesting ways.  We will showcase our work over the coming months, so we hope you check back in regularly.

I am really looking forward to getting to know all the boys and girls over this school year!  I thought I might share with you a few things about me, to help you to get to know me too!

Some of my favourite things:

Colour: Red

Animal: Whales

Season: Autumn

Favourite fruit: Grapes

Favourite vegetable: Carrot and parsnip

Favourite drink: Water – it’s very good for you!  And I don’t drink tea or coffee!

Favourite hobbies: Whale watching and star gazing

Our Twitter handle is @muinteoirfi if you want to follow us on Twitter, but don’t worry – we will be updating Scoil Chlíodhna’s Facebook Page and school Twitter account as well as this website regularly, so you won’t miss out on any of the fun things going on in our school.

As our school motto says – ní neart go cur le chéile – (there is no strength without unity), so we look forward to working together as a class and as a school over the coming year.
