Playground Leaders

We have fantastic playground leaders in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS. These children are from 1st and 2nd class and we have a rota so we take it in turns and share this important role. The playground leaders plan and organise games for the Junior and Senior infants at lunchtime. They set up the equipment, explain and demonstrate the activities or games and then tidy away the equipment when lunch is finished. They are also great for encouraging and motivating everyone to get involved and to have fun.                                    ...

Outdoor and Adventure

The strand units of the Outdoor and Adventure curriculum include: Walking Orienteering Outdoor Challenges Understanding and appreciation of outdoor and adventure activities The activities in this strand help to develop appreciation and enjoyment of the great outdoors.  The activities are team-orientated and develop social skills.  We incorporated the Outdoor and Adventure strand into our Autumn Nature Walk. Our children had to do a nature hunt where they collected different types of leaves that we spot in autumn.   We also had Wild Work visit us and teach us all about the habitats, flora and fauna that we find in Carrigtwohill. They even sent on us on a little treasure hunt with clues!...
