This policy was reviewed by the Board of Management of Scoil Chlíodhna CNS in December 2021. The policy is formulated in accordance with guidelines issued by the (Primary Schools’ Managerial Bodies) and the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation.
The following Annual Admission Notice has been prepared by the board of Scoil Chlíodhna CNS in respect of the admission of students to the school for the school year 2022/2023. This notice was published on 18th October 2021.
A decision on an application for admission will be based on the implementation of this Policy, the information set out in the annual Admission Notice of the school and the information provided by the Applicant in the application for admission, once received before the closing date set out in the annual admission notice.
The Board of Management’s annual review of the school’s Child Safeguarding Statement was completed at the Board meeting on 14th May 2020.
This policy fully complies with the requirements of the Anti-Bullying Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools which were published in September 2013.

Acceptable Use Policy 2020
The aim of this Acceptable Use Policy is to ensure that pupils, and all other users, will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the school’s internet resources in a safe and effective manner.
Notification regarding the Board of Management’s review of the Child Safeguarding Statement
The Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools 2017 require that the Board of Management must undertake a review of its Child Safeguarding Statement and that the following checklist shall be used for this purpose.
In accordance with the requirements of the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017, the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools 2017 and Tusla Guidance on the preparation of Child Safeguarding Statements, the Board of Management of Scoil Chlíodhna CNS has agreed the Child Safeguarding Statement set out in the above document.
Class Mixing Policy
This policy is the result of whole school collaboration with the Board of Management to ensure that our class mixing is completed at regular intervals and always in the best interests of the children.

COVID 19 Policy Statement
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all our staff and a safe learning environment for all our pupils. To ensure that, we have developed the following COVID-19 Response Plan.
Scoil Chlíodhna Community National School (CNS) aims to protect the well being of its students and staff by providing a safe and nurturing environment at all times. The School Manager and Principal have drawn up a critical incident management plan as one element of the school’s policy and plan.
Enrolment Policy 2020/2021
This policy is set out in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1998. The Board of Management trusts that by so doing, parents/guardians will be assisted in relation to enrolment matters.
The purpose of this policy is to inform current and future parents and staff members about the efforts made in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS to achieve equality for all members of the school community and to reduce incidents of discrimination.
Healthy Eating Policy
This updated policy outlines how the school supports healthy eating practices through the promotion of healthy lunches and healthy snacks.
ICT Policy 2020
This policy was produced as part of the school plan for Information Technology. It is a statement of the aims and objectives, principles and strategies for ICT in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS.
This policy was drawn up in consultation with staff and BOM and in accordance with Circular P0075/2015 and 0054/2019. Job sharing involves two teachers who voluntarily agree to share one full-time teaching position for a period of the school year.
In accordance with section 11 of the Children First Act 2015 and with the requirement of Chapter 8 of the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools 2017, the following is the Written Risk Assessment of Scoil Chlíodhna Community National School.
This policy, in accordance with the provisions of the Child Care Act (1991), Education Act (1998), Education (Welfare) Act (2000) and the revised ‘Primary School Curriculum Guidelines’ (1999), details the aims and the content of the agreed programme for the provision and the delivery of ‘Relationships & Sexuality Education (RSE) in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS.
The Manager / Board of Management of Scoil Chlíodhna Community National School (CNS) brings to the attention of its staff the following arrangements for safeguarding the safety, health and welfare of those employed and working in the school and the pupils attending Scoil Chlíodhna CNS.
This policy was formulated to provide the school community of Scoil Chlíodhna CNS with guidelines regarding situations of parental separation and custody matters.
School Complaints Procedure
The INTO and Primary School Management reached agreement in 1993 on a procedure for dealing with complaints by parents against teachers. The purpose of this procedure is to facilitate the resolution of difficulties where they may arise in an agreed and fair manner.
