13th October was a very special day here in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS as our very first Student Council was formed

One child from 1st – 5th class class was elected by secret ballot and has been appointed as representatives for their class to the council for the duration of the school year. Some of our senior students will represent our junior and senior infants.
Through our Student Council, we hope to give our pupils a more active role in the organisation of our school and ensure they are listened to and respected for their ideas and concerns.
We are very proud of our Student Council and we look forward to having our first official meeting very soon!

Uniform Referendum
After asking parents to give their opinion on the mandatory uniforms from 3rd class, the student council held a referendum to make sure that our students also had their voices heard.
– 76.7% (122) of parents opted for optional formal uniform (children can choose to wear either the uniform or the tracksuit).
-23.3% (37) of parents opted for the formal uniform (jumper. shirt, tie, trousers or skirt) to be mandatory from 3rd class.
Therefore, the formal uniform will remain optional for all classes. However, we do ask that all children wear the correct tracksuit / uniform. Jerseys (other than the school jersey) or sports leggings are not allowed. However, generic navy tracksuit pants (from Dunnes, Aldi, Tesco etc ) are absolutely perfect.
