Green Schools

“Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and education programme for schools.

Here at Scoil Chlíodhna, we care about the environment, and we want to make our school a greener and more environmentally friendly place. That’s why we decided to join the Green Schools Programme.

Our committee is made up of seven students – Wiktor and Zoe from third class; Kara, Martha, Zoe and Seán from fourth class, and Kara and Tymon from fifth class. We also have four teachers on our committee – Múinteoirí Aoife K, Aoife M, Eoghan and Sarah.

The first Green Schools flag is for Litter and Waste, and takes a year to earn. Our first step is to interview all of the teachers, and to conduct some litter inspections around the school. When we have gathered all this data, we will be able to make a plan and set some goals for the year.

Keep an eye on the school website and our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for updates on our mission!
